I'm
so delighted to introduce U-CDX U-AG1 Newt CDX, HT, JHDs, STDs,
HTDs-1. He is my loveable Border Collie. This dog has brought so much
joy into my life. He helped me many years ago to win the Gaines
Good Sportsmanship Award from Dog
Owner's Training Club of Lynchburg. What a total surprise that was
since it simply didn't enter my mind that Newt could ever help me
receive such an honor. Newt wasn't the best obedience competitor as he
was easily distracted. However, with much patience on my part and
determination we succeeded in several dog sport venues.
I
believe it was my first Novice A show with Newt, when he left my side
in the heel off lead, to go watch a Miniature Schnauzer do the Utility
go out jumps. LOL Another time he sat up on the long down because
people were clapping for the winners in the next ring. Newt sat there
barking his head off. I felt so embarrassed. However, I never gave up
on him despite his silly antics. I kept a firm, but happy resolve to
put some titles on my first Border Collie. And so I did.
Newt's
great great grandsire is ##Wisp.
You can see the family resemblance. ##Wisp was a two time
International Supreme Champion winner. I'm very proud of Newt's
heritage!
Newt
was awarded "Pet of the Day" on November 19, 1998 as a
youngster. You can read about his story and see his winning photo here.
Newt
has one hind leg that is held together with two Titanium plates and
screws. The surgery he had is called Tibial
Tuberosity Advancement to repair his torn ACL.
